I was taught by several teachers, and learnt something valuable from each of them. I believe that the legacy of a good teacher is their students. In the past, I achieved my Grade Five practical and theory examinations through the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). More recently, I studied for two years under the instruction of Azada Zeynalova (Russian pianist) and also under the instruction of Mami Shikimori - acclaimed Japanese pianist who delivers performances internationally.
I spent a number of years working as a pianist at the Bear Hotel in Wantage, Oxfordshire while studying. I played for hours without music because I can listen to most music and then play it on the piano.
What I really enjoy about playing the piano most of all is the satisfaction of being able to play good music from a variety of styles just by listening. I compose my own music - some of which I add my own vocals to.
I use various teaching methods - tailored to the needs and preferences of the student. Some methods develop the 'musical ear', so eventually many of my students will be able to develop this skill effectively. I also specialise in teaching music to special needs using varied and effective techniques.
Piano playing is a skill that somebody never forgets. Regular practice helps the musician progress further- I am a strong believer in that.
In addition to music, I have achieved a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Studies through Solent University and graduated during 2001. I have experience with the British Army within various regiments.
